SHUNKAN was my first film. Produced in 2019 as my final project for college and released in the second semester of 2020, this short-film was the result of a year’s work.

I worked as writer, director, producer, editor and I financed the project. It premiered on the 31st São Paulo International Short Film Festival and a few months later it won the Best Avant-Garde Horror Short Award at the Tabloid Witch Awards, and it was part of the Itaú Cultural Play streaming service from February 2022 to November 2023.

I’m very proud of this project. It took a lot from me, but it taught me so, so, so much. A costly lesson that paid for itself about a year later. I had multiple producers bailing on me, actors leaving because other projects were outpaying what I had offered and other insane problems. But in the end, Shunkan was created.
