Adapting an artstyle and recreating impossible shapes with Blender.

Dragon Ball Z is my favorite everything. Anime, series, manga, games - every field it’s been in.

So naturally, I wanted to make a DBZ animation in 3D as long as I’ve been doing 3D. However, there was always a problem - his hair! Goku’s hair is very, very hard to get right in 3D. Especially his Super Saiyan hair. I remember when FighterZ animated his hair going from base to Super Saiyan, it looked crazy and it was the first I’d ever seen Goku’s hair doing that in 3D.

In the end, after a few hours and many attempts of working with Paths and Shape Keys, I got it working right. It transitioned rather well, I think!
