Using VFX to bring a beloved toy to life.
This project is a funny one - I was invited to work on it by the owner of a production company I had worked for in early 2024. He shot a message that they had landed a 3D job that rather complex, with both character animation & VFX, and asked me if I was up for the task. As it so happened, I had been researching VFX for more than 6 months by the time I got his call.
So I got on the project, working from the modeling to the fur simulation, helping them shoot the footage at Avenida Paulista, then doing the tracking & integration of the assets in post.
This project had it all: 2D animation, 2D tracking, 3D modeling, texturing, rigging, tracking, animating, rendering, compositing. All done by me. You know how sometimes a game has you beat all the bosses again at the final level? It felt like that!
It ended up gathering almost 3 million views on Hasbro Brasil’s Instagram page. I’m proud of this one!
